Lost Stories[]
Each story was involved with an event that destroyed literature, and each is connected with the stars.
- The first story was of Hercules. Jack and Annie saved it from Pompeii when Mt. Vesuvius erupted and destroyed it. They used it to have Hercules cross a stream when the bridge broke to save them from an ash-filled bed. Hercules was a constellation.
- The second story was The Cowherd and the Silkweaver. Jack and Annie saved this story from the book burning at the Imperial Library that Emperor Shi Huangdi ordered. They used the story to escape the mausoleum containing the Terracotta Army statues. Although, the two characters also appeared out of the story, the thread the silkweaver gave them earlier unraveled giving them a way out. The two are represented by the stars, Vega and Altair, both are which at the other ends of the galaxy.
- The third story was of a sea serpent named Sarph. This story was saved from a Viking invasion in Ireland, the serpent helped move Jack and Annie to land after a ship they were in drifted out to sea. Unfortunately, the monk, Brother Michael, didn't finish it before the Vikings arrived. As a result, only fractions of Sarph's story exist today just like in real life. Nonetheless, the Irish believed that Sarph was the Milky Way.
- The fourth story was of Pegasus. It was written by a woman working under Plato, but she wasn't allowed due to females having many restrictions there at the time. Jack used the story to save Annie when the Greeks discovered her pretending to be a soldiers in the games. Like Hercules, Pegasus is also a constellation.
