When they arrive, it is night. Outside the tree house is a giant castle. Jack and Annie leave the tree house and head for the castle. A knight rides a horse over the castle drawbridge into the castle, and Jack and Annie must hide. Then they hear music. Jack looks in the book and finds out that a feast is going on. Annie takes off to go see what the feast is like. Jack started after. He was seen by a guard on one of the towers, but he just ran ahead. When he got in the castle, he ran and hid in a corner. He found Annie hiding behind a well in the courtyard. They entered a hallway and found the Great Hall and the giant feast. As they are watching from by the doorway, a man came along and scared them away. They stumbled into a dark cold room filled with armor and weaponry. Jack got his head stuck in a large helmet. Then they were found by three huge men. The men took them to the dungeon. When in the dungeon, Annie used the flashlight to temporarily blind them so they could get away. Jack finds a trapdoor on a map in the book. They go through the door. They crawl all the way to the edge of the castle walls where Jack falls into the moat. Annie jumps in after him and they both swim to shore, though they are scared by splashes they believe to be from crocodiles.

As the fog began to disappear, Jack and Annie saw a knight on the horse. They kids ride with this mysterious knight back to the tree house. They enter the tree house and wish their way back home.
